Cycling Fatigue

What are the Needs for a Healthy Energy Cycle?

With today’s busy society many people experience low energy and fatigue. Many factors can contribute to low energy. Bad diet, not enough sleep, lack of physical activity, not enough daylight, and too much television can contribute to minimal energy levels. So what can we do in order to improve the oomph of our energy cycle?

The first and most important part of reaching a healthy energy cycle is proper nutrition. A balanced diet should consist of carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins, minerals, and fibers. The carbohydrates in food are a great source of energy while proteins enrich our ability for healthy growth. Fats provide us with energy and fat soluble vitamins while fiber aids in the digestive tract. A balanced diet, rich in all of the foods from the food pyramid plays a key role in the energy cycle.

Sleep is yet another important factor in achieving a healthy energy cycle. Many of us do not devote enough time to sleep. Adults, on average, get an estimated five hours of sleep. The amount of sleep that is actually needed for a healthy energy cycle is eight hours. So, if at all possible, try to devote more time to sleep, even if it means missing your favorite television show late at night. Lastly, it is very important to incorporate exercise into your daily routine. Just as you feed your body a healthy diet, you also need to provide your organs with a healthy exercise regimen. Exercising makes your organs stronger thereby improving their performance. Your heart will be stronger, your metabolism will be faster, and you will get a lot more nutrients flowing through your blood stream. A healthy diet, an adequate amount of sleep, and daily exercise can all aid in improving your energy cycle.
