What bike is good to do some road cycling in spain?

I’m looking at a buget of £500 max…either a road bike or a hybrid…and i still don’t know which one to get…i.e which has the best ride comfort..im looking to do some cycling the murcia area. if anyone has any experience of cycling abroad and which bikes are suited best (and preferably compatible with british roads) then i’d like your help… thanks
