Cycling Artist
What are some albums that are best appreciated listening to them start-to-finish?
I’m sitting here listening to an indie band named Graphite Symphony, and their CD ‘The 9th Cycle’. It’s not a concept album, but it is definitely thematic, if nothing else, musically. It’s an amazing record, and one that deserves much more attention than it has gotten, but such is the fate of an indie prog rock band.
I’ve listened to the songs on the album individually and also out of sequential order, but they don’t sound right. This album was recorded with a definitive flow and intent.
What are some albums best appreciated listening to them from first note to the last? I’m not talking about concept albums, but albums where the artist was obviously in a specific headspace, and was trying to communicate a particular idea?

Sonic Youth – Daydream Nation
Also not a concept album and for all the love it receives, it doesn’t contain the one knock-out track that you want to hear over and over. It’s a very solid and consistent work.
